What's Happening To Casual Dining?

Say it's not so.
The WSJ reports that Uno Restaurant "will skip a bond payment on Friday" The chain of 200 restaurants started in Chicago and I tasted, in those early days, the finest pizza, I had ever tasted. Deep dish as I have never found anywhere in Portland, Oregon.
Uno has 5,500 employees.
Quoting the WSJ again, Uno
These last named chains have 40,000 employees!
In the last few months, sit-down chains such as Bennigan's, Steak and Ale, and Vicorp Restaurants Inc.'s Bakers Square and Village Inn chains have filed for liquidation or bankruptcy protection, frequently moving to shutter hundreds of sites and cut thousands of jobs.
We are going to have to start eating at home!
